Guest guest
Tammy, I'm sorry to hear about your delay but give thanks that your ortho is doing what is the best interest for you. Just try to envision your perfect bite when all of this is behind you. My surgery is still a big " go " for Feb 2nd. So I guess I'll see you all on the other side… Bye,
Guest guest
Hi ! I am thankful that my ortho is looking out for my best interests. And I do understand what he is trying to achieve and why. It was just kinda dissappointing. I wish you all the best wishes with your surgery and recovery. I hope your results will be everything you wish for and then even better! Guest guest
Tammy, Contrary to your belief, this IS a good post. It's disheartening to have your surgery postponed, but thank God you have a surgeon who actually cares about you and making things better for you rather than just getting your money and doing whatever to get it. I know it's hard, but it will come and when it does, believe it or not, at first you'll think " it's about time " then as the date nears, you'll think " it's time already? " . Be patient, Tammy...really, this is the hardest part. Good luck and rant all you want. Smooches discouraging day Hello, all. I was so excited yesterday, after seeing the ortho. He said everything looked good and surgery for Feb 18 seemed to be right in line. He took final surgery molds, pics, xrays and put surgery hooks on. Well, today he calls me and leaves a message.... " It looks like your teeth arent fitting together as good as I would like for them too, need to get back in here so we can do some tweaking, put you in some elastics and see how it goes " ....So, bottom line, surgery is on hold AGAIN!!! This is so disheartening. I go in Tuesday to have " buttons " ? put on to string elastics around then wait 6 more long weeks to see if everything has moved into better position, if not, more waiting. I was so looking forward to this and to hopefully some relief of my severe neck pain and headaches. Boo Hoo!!! Sorry Im going on and on and having a little pity party. Just had to get this all out. Thanks for listening. I'll try to be better next post. see ya, Tammy ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guest guest
Absolutely -- you want everything to be lined up just the right way for your surgeon. You wouldn't want to have spent all this time in braces, go through the surgery and then find yourself with a compromised result because things weren't perfect beforehand, I know... I think (but am not sure -- never had 'em) that buttons are little bits of metal that are cemented to the teeth so that elastics can be anchored on them. Guest guest
Hi. Just an update. I was able to get into my ortho today instead of waiting until Tuesday. The " buttons " he put on are small round metal objects to hold the elastics. He put them on the inside of my bottom teeth and ran the elastics to the outside of my upper teeth. Sounds like fun, huh? Now it looks like surgery will probably be sometime in April. He said he'd like to shoot for March, but this is no good for me. My husband and I have a big remodling job planned for our house starting March 1st. We will be working on our bedroom and bath and there is no way that Im having this surgery and not be able to recover in my own bed. My youngest son is not liking the idea of my surgery being in April because that is when his birthday is. And his way of thinking is that the whole month is off limits to anything that isnt centered around his birthday. haha wouldnt that be nice? Hope everyone is doing well this evening. Take care and thanks for all the support! Tammy > > Tammy, > > > > Contrary to your belief, this IS a good post. Guest guest
Tammy, I have to agree with your son - I celebrate my birthday from 15 April - 15 May and this is MY TIME! LOL!
