Unless you have complications, I'd think three weeks might be tough,

but do-able, especially if you are to have work on lower only.

My surgeon wanted me to wait past two months for physical exercise,

except for walking, which he encouraged.

I would think you could find two surgeons who might partner, but I

don't know. I do know that my ortho trained at Emory, and am

therefore prejudiced in favor of that school of dentistry. Ask your

surgeon, when you see him/her, or ask your ortho, before you do. It

might also be possible to do it in New Jersey, or to do it, say, over

Christmas in Atlanta and take off an extra week or two, if your

school will permit. I never knew anybody who got crippled

academically by missing a week or two of classes, so long as you are

diligent with the work and the reading and make sure your teachers,

deans, etc. know WHY you aren't there as scheduled.

Thinking of my own college and surgery experiences, I think you

should be feeling pretty well by three weeks, especially with lower

only. One of the greater challenges may be hauling books all over

campus for classes, so just be careful with that and don't push

yourself too hard.

As for docs, the best way for you to have your question answered is

to begin talking with one or more OS's and see what they're willing

to do.
