Guest guest
Hi, I'm Lydia. I found this group a bit too late; I had upper and lower jaw surgery (and my wisdom teeth out and chin adjusted) a week ago today. I'm still all swollen, numb and green, but am improving steadily. It's nice to hear that it won't last forever, even though may seem like it now. I've had 2 jaw expanders, top braces twice, bottom braces twice, etc. for the past 11 years (I'm 18 now). I had an underbite and crossbite, and my upper jaw had stopped growing too early. It was exacerbated by a horse riding accident when I was 9 that shattered my lower jaw. One question I forgot to ask my surgeon in my Demerol-induced haze at my last appointment was how long the numbness would last. I'm numb in varying degrees from the tip of my nose to under my chin, but it sounds like it varies so much for each person that there's not really a point in asking, I suppose I'll find out! Anyways, hi! Lydia
