Mouth Swelling

Hey People,

I have a question for you " veteran " post-oppers...

I am able to do my mouth exercises, sing, talk, drink water, etc., with no

problems at all. As a matter of fact, all this seems to make things better.

However...here's my dilemma...anytime I eat anything, from the first spoonful,

my mouth seems to completely swell up inside - all over the areas around my

teeth -i.e., inside cheeks, inside upper and lower lips - however, my gums,

tongue and the roof of my mouth is not affected.

Is this normal or is this something I should be overly concerned about? Anyone

else experience this?

If you don't remember...I'm almost 10 weeks post-op from upper and lower.

Smooches,

I'm not a veteran, I don't think! But I'm three weeks postop and

experience the same sensation. When I read your post I thought,

darn! I was hoping it would go away soon! I am banded shut, but I

actually ate a tuna fish sandwich yesterday, NOT BLENDED, and right

away, the mouth swelled...sigh. Hope someone has some insight on

this...Alix

Actually, Alix, that is good information for me. That makes me even more sure

that it's the chewing that's doing it. Maybe I should take it even slower.

Thank you so much and happy healing.
