Guest guest
Hi everyone. I just wanted to thank you all for your support and advice here. I had to cancel my Jan. 27 surgery today because of the insurance company not responding to me. I am absolutely devastated. I think I am sinking into a huge depression right now. I can't even appeal because my COBRA coverage ends Jan. 31, and I am switching to my employers policy. (Which of course excludes orthognathic surgery!) This is the worst news I could have received. I keep trying to hold my head up about it, and think " well I have been like this for 26 years, what's a few more, right? " . Well, it's not alright for me. And I feel like such a spoiled brat too, expecting all of this to happen for me, but darnit, I deserve this. I really don't know how this is legal for the insurance companies to do this to us. Granted, I am not having major problems the way my jaw is (thank god), but I do have vertical maxillary excess of almost 1 cm (yes cm), and TMJ problems. The only thing left to do is to hope that next Feb. my employer changes insurance companies. But that is a whole year away, and I will have to wear braces that whole time, maybe even for nothing. I am really sorry to be ranting and raving about this, but I know if anyone would understand you guys would. Again thanks, you guys have been a wealth of knowledge, and I really appreciate all you've given me.
