Guest guest
Eileen, Britt - haha, this is bringing back memories! The BEST THING EVER while I had to eat mush was KFC mashed potatoes and gravy. I ate a lot of soups, lots of ensure, and my blender was my best friend. If you can open your mouth, throw just about anything in the blender then swallow it on down. I ordered up some takeout Chinese and blended it up, best shrimp lo mein ever! I ate a lot of rice w/ sauce that could just be swallowed, hamburger helper, etc. Took some getting used to, swallowing the big chunks but the variety was worth it. Cottage cheese too, yumm. And lots of milkshakes. Tried one pizza blended -yuck! Just turned into a ball of dough, huge disappointment. I was pissed that the fam was chowing down on pizza but it's funny now in retrospect. Tried sushi, didn't go over well. Had to dissect it bit by bit, swallowing the seaweed covering was gross! Couldn't chew for four months, had to get creative! Had fun, it's all what you make of it. The funniest thing though, was breakfast - cocoa rice crispies, sitting in milk til they weren't crispy any more then swallowed em on down. Every day! Yeah, it gets old but you've gotta keep your sense of humor (or humility!) and keep your eye on the prize, that light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes it's hard to remember why you went through with this but it will all be worth it in the end and you will be thankful for this learning experience. > > Britt--you are way ahead of me, actually.
