Guest guest
I've been a lurker on this board for the last couple of months and this is my first of many postings I'm sure as my surgery date is Wednesday Feb 18th. I just want to thank everyone for their postings as it has been a great help for me in prepare for my surgery. I'm having both the upper and lower jaw done and to tell you the turth I'm a bit nervous about the whole thing. Tomorrow I'm having my work up appointment and I'm wondering if anyone can give me some advise as to what kind of questions I should be asking... I'm just afraid I might miss something important. My main concern is the recovery process. What else should I ask the surgeon? I always hate it when asked if I have an questions and I draw a complete blank. Any help you can give would be appreciate it. Thanks! Take care, Tommy

Guest guest
If it's any consolation to you, I think most docs do use a gastric tube to remove any blood you may have swallowed. But I was fortunate in that mine was put in after and removed before I lost/regained consciousness. I was certainly sore from that and the breathing tube, though.
