Guest guest
Hi Julz, I thought it was me but your email deleted again when I went to reply. Very strange. So then I tried to write you at julzk78@... cause I figured that was your email but that got returned to me too. So I'm cutting and pasting what I wrote back: Your surgery sounds similar to mine although it took more than orthodontics to close my bite. I also had a lower advancement and genio for my 1st surgery. When that relapsed they thought that maybe they had made a mistake and should've done both jaws....so they then did the top jaw for my 2nd surgery. But when that relapsed they realized it was my jaw joints that were degenerating so they kept an eye on my joints via xrays for about a year before they decided that they were stable enough to try again. Surgery #3 was a year ago this month and was both jaws plus a touch up on the genio that was done the 1st time. So far so good although I'm still holding my breathe cause the other relapses were gradual and I think it'll be a few years before I'm convinced that this last one was 100% successful. I have numbness, or altered sensation on my bottom lip and tiny parts of my chin...a small price to pay in order to chew correctly and be happy with my smile. So remind me again why you were writing about relapse? Are you going through one or are you just worried about it? Neta-lee
