Actually I can't speak for the remedy,

but if the swelling is now going down your face its a good thing.

Elvis lip happens it will correct itself soon too.

You will one day just feel the swelling go down very fast.

Now are you on steriods?

Hi Eileen,

Sorry I missed this, I'm not as active here lately.

Yes, arnica can help with the swelling. I have no experience with the

creams, but I suspect they are more useful where you have bruised

yourself externally. If you want to take some arnica, I'd suggest you

go to your local health food store, or even better, consult with a

registered homeopath or naturopath - they will tell you how much,

when, and for how long to take it. Since the nature of this type of

treatment is to treat with something that in a normal person would

cause the symptoms, it's better in my mind for someone experienced to

guide you.

There are also a host of other homeopathic remedies that can be taken

at this stage of the game, for clearing the anaesthetic, nerve

recovery, deep tissue healing, bone fractures, etc. Again, a

professional can help you here. What was given to me by my homeopath

was for my specific situation for my particularly body, and may not

be appropriate in the same dosage for you.

MLD therapy is also excellent for reducing the swelling, but it's not

inexpensive.

Yes, you can wait for nature to take its course, but that's not the

approach I chose for myself.

Hi Shiloh,

My swelling just seems to be the same for several days. It doesn't

seem to be moving anywhere. It seems worse than yesterday, but I think

it's more likely that my *patience* is less. I'm puffy from my lower

eyelids down (and that is WEIRD having half-numb eye lids ).

My nasal swelling seems to be much better, since day 4 or so, so maybe

it is moving down, although I'd like it to move it's butt a little more.

I'm not on steroids anymore. I got 2 shots of it (I think 2) at the

hospital, but nothing since then (now I'm on day 8). I just made an

appoinment to have MLD therapy tomorrow. I hope that helps move things

along.

Eileen :-)

Thank you, . I'll look into it. Actually, I'm going for MLD

therapy tomorrow. I hope it brings me some relief.

Eileen,

Try this website:

http://www.alpinepharm.com/pagef.html

I've done a lot of reserach and I am a firm believer in naturopathic

remedies, they say that the capsule that they have can be opened and

dissolved under the tongue, ( they swear this the granules taste

good) all you have to do is fugur out how to get themunder your

tongue!! I plan on trying these pre and post op.

Thank you Marsha! LOL about the " getting it under your tongue " thing.

At my first post-op meeting with my surgeon, I asked (well, actually I

wrote) about my sublingual B-12 tablets. He said sure, you can take

them. I said where? ha ha He told me to disolve it in a small bit of

water and drink it.
