I totally understand the panic ur going through. I had many the same exact fears a week before surgery. It is so normal what what going through in ur mind right now. As far what will happen when u wake up. I dont know exactly what procedure ur having done. I had lower jaw surgery so I can tell you from my experience There is a decent shot u will be in a lot pain. My Dr told me most people are. In my case it was very temporary. They gave me a pain killer in the recovery room. I woke up a couple of hours later and that was the last any major pain for me. As far as being sick to ur stomach from what I have been told that is also pretty common but also very temporary. I threw up blood. the evening of my surgery. I felt naseau for about two days but never threw up again. They put u on penicillion for a wk after surgery to that can certainly cause naseau but there are medications they can give you for naseau. I think the first night is the worst after surgery and than it does get better. Its difficult to talk not just because ur wired but because everything including ur glands maybe swollen. Don't dispear everthing start to get better by about the third day. Ur swelling starts to go down each day. Talking becomes easier. Everyone is different but within a wk I was taking long walks. Within 2wks ur still swollen but probably not enough to be self conscience in public. Within a month I had no swelling at all. As far as being wired. I am not going sweeten the truth it sucks, but u get used to it. Everything has to go in the blender. Try peanut butter with a lot oil in the blender to make it syrupy. It really help the hunger pangs. You kind of sip stuff through the opening in your teeth. It things get stuck try a water pik on a low speed or a proxy brush to clean ur teeth. As far talking it does become easier. Most people were able to understand me within a couple of days. Dont overdo it cd be a strain to talk. My advice to you is time passes more quickly when ur busy, so try to carry with things u like to do as much as possible and as much as ur up to. Try not to get too frustrated about being wired its a strain but it is temporary. Try to focus on the big picture on how great u will look and function. Keep the faith. I believe in divine intervention, although it is a little bit of a contorversial topic on this site right now. I hope that helps. My prays are with you.
