After six wks of being wired. I had them removed on Wed. How

wonderful it is talk again and eat solid food.My top front teeth are

touching my bottom front teeth for the first time in my life. Its

weird but it feel great. Actually everyone has noticed that my speech

has sounds better than before I had the surgery. Everyone is telling

me that I am pronouncing my words much better and the tone of my

voice is clearer. Actually I hear it myself. I only had a 3mm move

foward as well as a lateral movement of my lower jaw. Have any of you

guys experienced that? How cool is that?

My problem right now is that all of sudden since the wires have been

removed my face has gotten swollen. Nothing where I am embrassed to

be seen but it wasent swollen at all right before I had the wires

removed. Is that normal? Does anyone know why that wd happen? Only my

teeth were wired shut my gums were not invovled. How long does it

usually take till that goes away?

I still can't open my mouth too wide. I am eating solid foods such as

toast but pizza seems to be out of the question. My jaw muscles are

really sore. Is there any excercise you can do to strenghen those

muscles? How long does it usually take till you can open wide? I also

experiencing a little bit of jaw pain at times. Is that part of the

healing process Any guidance wd be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
