Guest guest
Yeah, isn't 40 the new 20? My dental hygenist actually said that to me yesterday. So for all the insensitive surgeons out there, that sweet hygenist made up for it yesterday. 40 Years Old and Loving It! Irish! > Talk about bedside manner of surgeons! Geez you guys! My surgeon has > had nothing to say but positives. Before surgery he told me I looked > great, and he said that after surgery I was going to look even > better. The only reference he ever made to my age was when he called > me " kiddo " . (I'm 32) Which is pretty amusing because he's my age. > Next time an os tells you you're not going into modeling, say, well > yes, actually I am! And you're my ticket there!!! And what's up with > the 40's being old?? That's YOUNG! > Alix

I'll be 41 in March and I'm in the best shape of my life, running a marathon in two weeks. My 95 y.o. grandmother is currently in the hospital having a procedure. When the nursing staff asked her if she wanted to sign a living will (do not resucitate order) she asked " Why on earth would I want to do that? Guest guest
Ann, Lexicology, Alix, Cammie (and everyone else), I always refer to myself as being " old " because I like the thought - the only alternative is to die young (and many of my friends have). My children always say, " Mom, you're not old " and I reply, " I can be old if I want to. " LOL! Of course, I've always referred to myself as being old - since I turned 25! LOL! But on a serious note, I don't equate " old " with " ugly " . I think of being old as a positive thing...and I like it. My mom is 72 and she is a " sexy senior citizen " who never lies about her age and had never dyed her hair (she still has more black than gray). She's very proud of every last one of her years and I think that's where I get it. Anyway, like yours, my OS (as well as my ortho) have always had nothing but positive things to say about me. My OS said, with a big Cheshire cat grin, " Geez, you could be a model! " - I'm 42. :-) Yesterday, at my dreadful ortho appointment, from the other side of the room, my ortho excitedly yelled out, " Look at that profile! Isn't it great! " Then he asked me if my OS had seen me yet. I told him, " She saw me yesterday and she's just as excited about it as you are. " Smooches spring chickens Talk about bedside manner of surgeons!
