I also dab the suds in my naso-labial folds where my seb derm is worst and let it sit for just a bit during my shower. Note that when the flakes were really bad in my naso-labial folds, I also dabbed on a bit of Florsone cream (a natural homeopathic remedy available on the net and at most health stores) for a few days. The ZNP alone seems to keep it controlled, now, though. The ZNP bar contains 2% Pyrithione Zinc - and is quite inexpensive to use compared to Nizoral (which I reacted to) and some other shampoos. You can get it at many pharmacies - it is a behind the counter product, I believe, so ask for it. I order it from www.dermadoctor.com (a large bar is $6.99), and have seen it many other places on the net, also. Incidently, the Dermadoctor site and one called www.dermstore.com have excellent explanations of what seb derm is and how to treat it, etc. Bottom line: this soap has really helped and I have not seen any problems with my scalp since using it. I was leery about washing my hair with it, but it does a great job and left it nice & shiny afterward, which surprised me. The combination of soap & cream has controlled the seb derm problem for me very nicely (and without any skin irritation) - and did so for my 13 year old, too..... (Geez, I sound like a commercial, don't I?! I don't get a kickback from the manufacturers, honest!) :-) HTH! Jackie

What can be recommended? have you tried the ketacozanole route - as in nizoral cream for eg. It is an antifungal and can help. I hope that you will find the following messages helpful, they deal with seb derm. What can be recommended? Diane, Have you tried Chinese or Japanese green tea? I've posted on this group few months ago about green tea and it does an amazing job for my Seb Derm. Use the warm green tea and dab it on the affected area. I'm keeping it at bay for more than 4 months now. Best of luck! Guest guest
Here are a few other liks I have found, but it looks like there is as much non-information as there is about rosacea.
