My name is Jasmine and I have a wonderful little man named, Jaycen.

Jaycen will be 5 months on the 16th and was diagnosed with cf April

9th. It came to a complete shock as cf doesn't run in our families.

Jaycen was very sickly since birth. I breastfed for the first month

constantly. His consumptions were enormous and so were his diapers,

lol. Since birth Jaycen had a cough, diariah, and was losing

weight. He cried all the time. We finally were admitted into

hospital when Jaycen was under the 5th percentile...that was at 4

weeks old. We spent 2 weeks in peds. We tried everything..all

different kinds of formulas, finally he seemed to tolerate and gain

from Nutramigen..a pre-digested formula. They sent us home only

after 2 days. Jaycen quickly started losing weight or maintaining

it. We eventually had a sweat test done and Jaycen scored 90. The

doctor(if you want to call him that) wanted to retest Jaycen in a

week. I put my foot down and enough was enough. He was so sick. I

contacted the cf clinic in Calgary, Alberta Canada and off we went.

We were admitted the next day. Many more tests were done but we were

on the right road. Jaycen is now on cheflax(antibiotic), zantac

(rantitdine),coenzymes #4, as well as ADEK(vitamins). I also perform

chest physio on him 1-2/day. Jaycen's last ultrasound revealed

calcium deposits on his gall bladder(which is common) as well as his

liver(don't know why that is). But all in all, Jaycen is so happy

now.

I just wanted to introduce ourselves and say HI to everyone. I will

post a picture of Jaycen. I hope to chat with everyone.
