I would try a slightly lower dose to start - Andys recommnedations are

1/8-1/2mg per pound of child per dose. ALA is generally given every3 hours

during

the day and 4 hours at night. You can give the DMSA 3 hourly too so no need

to do two lots.

Good luck, this is a much safer way to go :)

I am thinking about dropping

the EDTA next round and switching to 25mg DMSA and 25mg ALA every 4

hours. My son is 4 yrs old and 40 pounds.

Hall Cutler is a Ph.D Chemist from Princeton University. He is gracious

enough to devote a lot of time to help us parents out with chelating our kids

for mercury. Andy has written the book " Amalgam Illness " which covers mercury

poisoning related to mercury amalgam fillings.

His web site is: http://www.noamalgam.com/

He covered EDTA in autism treatment group Message 938

EDTA is an old chelating agent for lead that has been superseded by DMSA,

and is an " alternative medicine " treatment for vascular disease - most widely

known as the alternative to bypass surgery that has all the heart surgeons up

in arms since it actually works but bypass seldom does. As you would

imagine, the level of controversy is intense.

EDTA is not an effective chelating agent for mercury detox.

And also Message 2517

EDTA is great... for a lot of things other than mercury. EDTA is not useful

for mercury. It is good for lead, but DMSA is better.
