Guest guest
We start them day 5 or 7 or so. But we're using real protein. You correctly freaked out at the weight gainers you saw. Those are great for someone who needs to get calories, empty or any other kind, on board very quickly. We're not after calories, only nutrition. We use water, not milk, so that helps with many of the problems associated with those candy drinks. We use no milk, no sugar, so that skips over 2 major problems for us. Does that help? My surgery is on Thursday and I am busy preparing....I have a question about protein immediately post op and in the month post op. Were most of you able to drink protein shakes immediately post op and in the month after surgery? I have been reading elsewhere where ppl had a lot of problems with protein shakes at 1st. My doc put Glucerna and Boost on the post op list for liquids to have. I thought that was nuts since I checked the sugar/carbs content for both and all I could think was DUMP, DUMP, DUMP! I am confused. Sorry I don't have time to review previous posts as I am sure this has been discussed before. If anyone can help, would you kindly email me so I will get it before my surgery? moonsinger333@... Thanks so much! ~
