Oh cool!!! I am so happy that it is dairy free!

I was shocked when I read Scarlet Fever!!! I almost fell out of my seat! I didn't think it existed anymore either! Wow! I hope he starts to feel better soon! Keep us posted!

Here's a great website: www.glutenfreedrugs.comI just ordered the Stokes Guide which tells about lactose as well(www.stokesrx.com) AND, I found an answer to my own question throughthe *wonderful* Massachusetts/Rhode Island Poison Control Center whoread me all the inert ingredients on the TEVA amox! At 1:00pm onSunday afternoon! And yes, it is GF DF. For those of you in MA andRI, their number is 1-.Alyssa, scarlet fever is caused by strep - so they actually culturedhis throat and it tested positive, but he does not have a sore throat- just a really high fever and a rash all over his body, particularlyVERY red face ("slapped cheek" look). Where did he get it? Only Godknows! Scarlet fever - for heaven's sake! I didn't even think itexisted anymore!BTW, the doc yesterday ASSURED me that it was a virus, probablyroseola. I *insisted* that she do a throat culture for strep/scarletfever, and she only very begrudgingly did it, all the while saying itwas a waste of time and it was definitely a virus. Well, gee, what doyou know, I was right! Just another reason to add to my completedistrust of the medical field! How is the strep infection going? Drew just had his tonsils removed today

because of it!

We had scarlet fever at the end of January? first of Feb? Can't remember

exactly. Only symptom was a weird rash on his body. Scarlet fever is " just "

(and I use that word lightly) strep that has gone untreated. It can then

develop into rheumatic fever. If you are still worried about the infection

after you have finished the antibiotic you might want to have the Dr. run

another culture (not the rapid strep).
