I think rhogam still has thimerosal/mercury in it. I have not heard anything saying it will be taken out. There is a mercury-free version called --um-- BayRho? Oh, someone help me here! I'll bet it is listed on Dana's website? Sorry I'm not more help. best wishes, Moria

Actually I read on a-m that Rhogam no longer contains thimerosal, but the message did not provide any source, so I don't know if it is true or not. You can always check the package insert. BayRho does not contain thimerosal, I have links on my site page http://www.autismchannel.net/dana/myvaxopn.htm Dana > > Sorry I'm not more help. > best wishes, > Moria
Guest guest
Hi , The shot available to me in the UK is still containing mercury unless I order seperately BUT BUT BUT my midwife and my GP have both confirmed to me that in their opinion the anti-D rhogam schedule is unessecary and excessive . The rate of problem is pretty rare anyway and are usually indicated by a previous problem or bleeding during pregnancy - if you take outr the mums with prior probs or likely indicators you are into being hit by lightening statistics . The routine shots at birth are to prevent likelihood in NEXT preganancy so , as this is my last baby I have been able to refuse those with the agreement ( FULL and HAPPY agreement of my GP ) . She has also said that I only need make the final decision re shot after the birth when we see how it goes ...full term , easy delivery , no bleeding and she thinks she will recommened that I miss that one too ! Regards Deborah PS Actually my Consultant has said pretty much the same thing about Vitamin K - no pre-existing condition , no indicators mean the odds are actually less than one in ten thousand - he has sugested I give that a miss too !!! Surprised ? I was !! > > > I think rhogam still has thimerosal/mercury in it. Guest guest
So what is the problem with giving the rhogam during pregnancy? The standard rhogam preparations contain the mercury compound, thimerosal. We commonly link this preservative with vaccines. Rhogam is a type of vaccine but not a vaccine directed against an infectious disease. The PDR cautions that the use of rhogam during pregnancy can have adverse effects on the fetus, 2. The high mercury content of the rhogam preparation can have serious neurological consequences on the developing fetus. Hair analysis of unvaccinated children born from mom's injected with rhogam demonstrate the presence of mercury. It is essential that these babies seek appropriate medical care to chelate and remove this mercury as soon as possible. How many babies have suffered permanent damage due to mercury toxicity from this desire to reduce the risk of HDN by less than 1% by injecting pregnant mothers?
