Guest guest
is not doing well at all. His tubes fell out of his ears about two months ago, and he's been on a constant roller coaster ride with ruptured ear drums and infection. He just came off a round of Omnicef, and he's sick again.....sigh. His behavior has gotten a bit elevated. He is talking back a bit, and cranky. It seems to coincide with the antibiotic, etc. I called the company to confirm whether it has gluten or dairy in it, but they could not confirm a thing. I never had problems with if he took amoxicillin. In fact, when he would go on that one he'd improve greatly - behavior wise. Nothing else has changed, and I give Acidophillus twice a day while on the antibiotic, so I don't think it is a yeast issue. I swear there is a problem with this particular antibiotic.... However, he has been off of it for a week now, and usually he begins to improve about a week after. But.......he is getting another cold, so the cranky mood could be related to the new cold. He literally sneezes all the time, and has huge dark purple circles under his eyes. I have never seen this before, and it coincides with the tubes falling out and the constant illness. Anyway, I know they make an antibiotic that is ok on the GFCF diet, but I can't remember which one. has not needed antibiotics for over 3 years now. Does anyone know which one(s) are ok? I just think something is not right with this Omnicef. a ________________________________________________________________ Juno Gift Certificates Give the gift of Internet access this holiday season. http://www.juno.com/give

Kathy, My LLMD explains abx use as a ladder, you work on killing a certain type of the bacterium ( free floating, encysted, L etc) For me I did Doxy/Amox, then Zith/ceftin, then Flagyl and finished with another, whose name I cannot recall. What works for one person may not for another. I dont think that any one antibiotic works, think that its a hit or miss and several may be needed. Guest guest
Kathy, I think you are going to find each antibiotic is as individual as the patients. My point of view ,for what it's worth, is that doxycycline is your best starter. It is easy on the pocketbook and can be very effective on co- infections. Not everyone can tolerate it though. It has a nasty reputation for causing nausea and vomiting. I took it 8 weeks before this happened to me. I started azith and flagyl after that. I had bad hertz and bad case of yeast even though I was on diflucan everyday. Because my guts were inflamed, the doctor switched me to ceftin. I took this for 12 weeks. I really didn't feel like it did anything for me. I am now trying the doxy again. I am beginning to have major gut problems again. I am probably going to have to go to an IV antibiotic because my colon is so compromised. I really did not want to do that because it is summer and I live on the water. I really would like to be able to go swimming or just float if I wanted to. Be very careful on doxy outside. I got sunburned in Nov. on a rainy day under a tent. I don't normally burn. It makes you very sensitive to the sun. I hope this helps you. I can be changed by what happens to me, but I REFUSE to be reduced by it. May God Bless and grant you a wonderful day. Hays [ ] antibiotic question Does anyone have any information on ceftin, biaxin, or zithromax, as to which works better and has the least side effects??? Is there any web-site with any information?? I have almost all neurological symptoms, and was wondering which antibiotic works best for that. Guest guest
I have a question: I am going to have surgery in May where I will be on a round of antibiotics after the procedure. Is there anything that I can do before or afterwards to minimize the effects of it? What do you think? What about when you HAVE to be on antibiotics for some reason.
