I never really got a list I was on clear liquids for 10 days in the hospital and

when I was released I was like you creamed soups, and other full liquids that I

can't stand and/or can't keep down, I am having a real problem keeping anything

with sugar down - so I am eating fat free -- sugar free jello and Healthy

Request Tomato Soup. I am not sure how long I will be on full liquids I do go

back to the doctor on the 7th for my check-up, although; I am happy to say that

this is my 2 weeks post op and I am down 24.6 pounds not a lot but I think it is

a good start.

My, if I have to do this diet for 5 more weeks I might go crazy - I am hoping

and praying for scrambled egg day - it is sad I hate eggs and tomato soup but I

am happy to have one and looking forward to the other.

Stasia

I could eat Tomato soup at 1 week out. My doctor's diet is water,

Gatorade, juice and broth for the 1st week, creamed soups (like tomato,

chicken etc), cream of wheat and malt o meal in addition to the 1st week

diet for 5 more weeks, then off to soft foods like white untoasted

bread, mashed potatoes, refried beans, soft cooked eggs etc. Do you

think that is weird?

Toni-

I have insurance through the Texas Health Insurance Risk Pool. They

didn't approve WLS until I submitted a 15 page letter telling them of

the benefits. They added the benefit Jan 1 this year. I tried to get

private insurance, which is a joke-- in Texas anyway. They won't even

cover the common cold! So I decided I need to have health insurance,

and I wasn't going to get private health insurance because I didn't

meet the weight/height requirements. The premiums are high, but if

you feel you can't get adequate insurance through work, etc, look

into this. If not, be presistant, get in contact with human resources

at you place of job, and tell them to add this benefit. Make a point

that you are not going away! That's what I did
