For what it's worth, my son's first OAT showed a DHPPA of 1074 (ref. range is

0-150). According to my DAN, the high DHPPA is a clostridia marker. My DAN

recommended 2 capsules ProCulture Gold daily. After two months, the DHPPA was

down to 704. He suggested upping the ProCulture Gold to 4 capsules per day.

Sometimes, I gave him six per day, split in three doses. Three months later,

the DHPPA was in normal range. I tried letting up on the ProCulture Gold, and

it returned. So now, over a year later, he still gets 4-6 capsules ProCulture

Gold. I have tried other probiotics and he does poorly on them. Along with

the PCGold, he also gets scFOS and Colostrum.

Don't know if this will help anyone, but it worked for my son.

Hi-

Does anyone have any suggestions or dealing with Clostridia---beyond

Culterelle, which we have been using for years and has not tackled the problem

for us.

Our DAN! doc keeps prescribing vancomycin but the Clostridia just keeps

coming back.

Thanks-

SJ

Does he have a yeast problem also? If not, consider trying to

increase yeast. Whenever my kids have a bacteria problem that the

Culturelle does not help much, I do another round of chelation and

extend it a few days. This helps.

You can also rotate probiotics, that seems to help quite a few kids.

Zinc also helps my kids with both yeast and bacteria issues.

Hi Sharon: I am at work right now so I dont have my reference book. But I

remember reading that Culturelle is good in some way with Clostridia. Dont

know the symptoms. When I get home I will look it up in the book (which I

cannot remember the name of) and get back to you. I specifically remember

Culturell because it has been mentioned in posts here and it caught my eye

while I was reading another book. Eileen

Hi: My son has the wretched stench in bms also and I wouldnt say body odor

but I call it a sleep odor especially in his hair. His hair never smells

clean even after a shower. I also cant seem to get that particular odor out

of his room. It always smells like a sleep odor. I have tried everyting I

wonder if this is the same thing. Just started the culturelle 1 at night.

EIleen He also gets like a cheesy film on his teeth and in the corners of

his mouth. Not so bad lately. But I am always wiping it away.

Hi

My son got clostridia last year. To make a long story into a short

one, he had yeast, I put him on SCD (diet) and probiotics and he got

rid of the yeast but it left space for clostridia as the probiotics I

was using were not sufficient (I used the recommended dosage and it

was not enough). Anyway, the symptoms I remember for my son was

diarrhea (very smelly) and hyperactivity. Also his behavior was

better on the SCD but he kept being inflexible... some autistic

symptoms disappeared with the yeast but some were more there with

clostridia... the problem is different kids will show different

symptoms. To get rid of clostridia, you have of course culturelle but

it is not the only option. Basically the strain L Rhamnosus bacteria

is very efficient to deal with clostridia and I got mine from a US

company called CUSTOM PROBIOTICS. You can find it on the internet

just by typing this on . I use his CP1 formula (it is for adult

but it does wonder for my 5 year old) . the man makes his own

bacterias and it is good stuff. He also has a formula without D-

lactate which he made specially for autistic kids... good luck

Hi,

I haven't seen any mention of Saccharomyces boulardii, a kind of yeast

that can be useful against Clostridium difficile. It is sold the same

places that you can buy the usual probiotics.

What do you consider aggressive doses of Culturelle? Peptizyde?

Protocol (when did you give it? away from food? other enzymes?)

What was the dose/protocol for the colloidal silver?

TIA,
