Hello Cindy,

did your doctor ever suggest giving you progesterone shots? I'm not sure if you have mentioned anything to that effect in your previous letters. If not, I think its worth a try to ask him.

I hope that you can find a way to remain calm through all this.

God bless,

Zhenia

Cindy,

My cervix also got soft and it hung in there. I am praying you will at least get to 28 weeks!!!!

Thanks for info & one more L & D trip!!

Hi ladies,Thank you Taryn, , and everyone else for the reassurance and information you provided. , your situation sounds similar to mine except my funneling started around 19wks. I am now at 21wks so hopefully my dynamic cervix will cooperate for awhile longer.I had another eventful day. I felt very moist and went to bathroom to ck. Toilet paper was drenched with clear liquid. Of course I panicked. I called my local OB who had me come to L & D at the local hospital. I was not about to ride 1 hr to the hospital where my peri works. Fortunately my mom was here today visiting from out of town. Dr. ck'd me there. I did not save the tissue paper as I didn't know I was supposed to. Dr. ck'd fluid from around the cervix and it tested negative for amnio fluid. She said probably weird discharge. She felt the cervix and said it was closed, but softened a bit. She wasn't too worried about this, but noted it. U/s still showed the funneling past the stitch. The area where the stitch is looked pretty wide. I asked her if the stitch was even doing anything at this point and she said that it was probably the only thing keeping my cervix closed. She sent me home with instructions to see my peri on monday. I asked her if she thought I would make it to the point where the baby would survive. She said I would probably make it to 24wks and hopefully the baby could be saved.I really don't want to scare anyone with my experiences... my cervix is one of the weirdest ones they've seen- I'm not even normal in the IC group!! So don't anyone get discouraged by my experiences. I mean you can sit there and watch the cervix funnel and close with no fundal pressure whatsoever. Just a freak of nature.Well, thanks for "listening" and thanks for all the input too. , your story gives me some hope.Cindy
