Hang in there Missy!!!! Most of us have had to wait several months and some

even 2 years before they got to have their surgery!!! You'll get there.

Keep that chin up and let us here asap when you hear from BC BS. We will

celebrate with you!!! I had to wait 7 months from the time I decided that

the MGB was what I wanted to do until I got to have it done!! You will get

your life back!!! Anne in Mo MGB 1 10 2000

Hi Missy,

Boy do we have a lot in common. My PI form was also too long and it

crashed Dr. R's computer. I am 5'3 " weigh 245 and I also have to prove

medical necessity. I am sending in my packet today. I picked up my photos

yesterday and I have been really depressed ever since I saw them. I can't

believe it's me in those pictures. It's really sad,

no wonder I'm always exhausted. I look like a sumo wrestler. This surgery

won't get here soon enough for me. I should know something this week from

Prudential. I hope you find out something soon. Keep in touch.

Best Wishes,

Genz

You are too funny!!! Maybe we should move to Japan (I looked like a sumo

wrestler in my pix, too) -- in Japan sumo wrestlers are worshipped and

considered sexy!!!!!

I hope to meet you -- are you trying for a late May surgery date?

e,

Are you joking? Sumo wrestlers are considered sexy? I better stay away

from Japan I don't have the strength or the stamina to run from all those

Japanese men. I

can't imagine anyone thinking this body is sexy. I've always said I'm a

Renaissance woman born a few centuries too late. I just finished my packet....I

just reread my

patient letter and needed to correct Dr. R's MGB surgeries from almost 500 to

almost 600. By the time he gets to mine it will be almost 700. If he gets this

approved in

time and if Prudential comes through I hope to have a May date. Probably clinic

on the 30th and surgery on the 31st. Oh what the heck...I'll go in June if I

have to. I

wish you all the best.

Genz,

BTW did you see the story in today's paper about the sumo wrestler who didn't

tie his sash tight enough and he lost his uniform (diaper)? On live TV last

night!!!! I guess there were some traumatized children last night. He got a

BIG fine and some other punishment. But I'll bet if you had seen that program,

you would retract your statement!!!!! LOL

Missy,

You and BCBS are in my prayers. I note of hope...BCBS is one of the better

insurance companies for approving this surgery. They approved mine in 3

weeks. I had to fax them the paperwork myself because they said they did not

have it. It sat on someone's desk for a week and by the begining of the

third week they had sent out a letter! Just double check the letter for

mistakes. For instance, our insurance is through my hubby's company and they

wrote the letter approving HIM for the surgery. This was particularly funny

since my hubby weighs about 150lbs!! LOL I called them and the faxed me a

corrected letter immediately.

God bless!

Missy,

I'm 5'3 , 212 pounds, with some other health issues and I am already 8 days

postop. I had BCBS of TX and once they had all my info I was approvediin 5

days. Please do not despair. There is light at the end of your tunnel.

This group will all be pulling for you. It is wonderful but it is not a

miracle but a chance to begin again and get it right. If I can be of any

help to you please let me know. I will keep you in my prayer that God will

intervene and give you the peace and assurance that you need at this time.

Hi.. I am new to the list, but have been spending about 20 hours a day

reading emails and things on the web site for about the last 3 weeks or so.

I am absolutely positive this surgery is the thing for me. I have an

appointment with my PCP next week to talk it over with him, and then

hopefully, I can get the ball rolling. I am hoping to be on the other side

before this summer is over. I am also curious as to what happened to

. I gather from one email I read that it might not have been the

surgery itself that was the cause of her death. Any info anyone can share

with me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Debbie in IL

P.S. I think everyone at the MGB web site and this list are very special

people!

Ray,

Sorry but we flew in Friday evening and had to rush to get the see the Rightous

Brothers. Saturday evening I had tickets to EFX and Sunday we saw Wayne

Newton, then we were on our way back to the Airport at 8 AM Monday morning. So

we did not have much time for anything else. I did walk from the Bellagio to

the MGM Grand and back on Saturday about noon to pick up my tickets for EFX.

Sunday morning I walked around the block and watched the fountain show at the

Belagio.

Take care, Bill Werre
