Guest guest
Great news on being 25weeks Amy. Keep those legs crossed for another 14w LOL. Shona Amy ki wrote: Hi everyone! Just had my doc visit yesterday... baby girl is doing well and cervix is measuring 3.2mm which is the same as it was 10 weeks ago after my surgery. Since I am almost 25 weeks along and cervix has not changed my doc figures I am through the riskiest period. They do not even plan to do anymore cervical ultrasounds. My doc wants me to try and make it to 39 weeks so my C-Section has been scheduled for December 26!! Merry Christmas!! Thanks for all the support! Guest guest
Robin, good to hear from you. I am glad you are doing well. Sorry about the Gestational Diabetes, though. Please keep us posted. Cook baby cook! I've just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and have to eat a special diet (no cookies, cakes, candies, etc.) and I have to check my blood sugar level 4 times a day and record everything I eat. I go back on Tuesday and they will decide if I need insulin shots. They say that 40-50% of women diagnosed with this condition do need insulin and so far I've failed more of my blood sugar readings than passed so I think I'll end up on insulin. Other than that things are going well. I'm just feeling my age this time around. I'll be 40 next month. We still haven't decided on a name. Sometimes I wonder if we ever will. We've always had a name picked way before now. No name sounds right to us. We might just have to bring a list of 10 names to the hospital and see what he looks like.Welcome to all the new ladies - I hope you find the help you need on this board.I apologize for not posting more often than I do. During my last pregnancy I posted at the Babycenter Bulletin Boards under "Pregnancy after a loss" and I got so wrapped up in posting that I worried about every little thing that happened to others. My family did not really think it was healthy for me but at the time I think it really helped. This time around though I just don't have the interest to get so involved. I still read all the posts but just don't respond even when I feel I have something to add. I hope you understand. I'm only working 1/2 days now but it seems I spend the other half of the day at a doctor appt. It's refreshing to know that I've reached the point at 29 weeks where 90+ percent of babies survive if born now. With the gestational diabetes they will start doing bio physical tests on the baby weekly to make sure that he is doing okay. I didn't really know much about gestational diabetes before but the interesting thing I learned about why it's so important to keep in in check when you are pregnant is because my body is not producing enough insulin to digest the sugars in my diet. They get passed to the baby and it makes his pancreas work hard and he produces more insulin than he would normally need. Upon delivery he can be born with low blood sugar because he is producing way too much insulin and this can put him in a coma. It also causes jaundice problems because the pancreas is out of wack already. Before I thought it just made the baby bigger and fatter and thought that in my case a big baby wouldn't be a problem becuase I was having a c-section anyway. But there is a lot more to gestational diabetes than most of us know.I hope everyone else is doing well. I'll check back later.Love, Robin^i^ Dakota 10/6/99 (23 weeks) Raine 9/8/00Baby Boy EDD 12/8/03 (c-section around 11/10)

Guest guest
I've been having troubles with my email- yet again. I notice that everything I've posted over about the last week has not posted at all! So, sorry that I didn't get back to some of you! Welcome to all our new members! Ziva and Brittany and Lynn- ladies, my hat goes off to you all! You know, sometimes I feel like we are dealing with a bunch of stuff over here, but just to hear what you guys go through- well no less than amazing! Brittany, I hope that Talli is home and well soon! Things are good here. I was at my parents house this past week. Always enjoyable! We missed dh aka daddy though! So we came back a day early (and I'm hoping for a date tomorrow)! Sam is doing very well. I just can't believe this is the same kid that only a year ago was such a sick sick boy last year. He was very very underweight. Failure to thrive, ect..... Now he is TWO!!! I'm so not used to an active boy. My two girls were/are pretty quiet and enjoy sitting and reading or coloring. Sam is a climber! He climbs out of his crib, over safety gates, out of pack-and-plays, up on counters, ect..... He is a busy busy busy child! It is amazing! I'm tired just trying to keep him OUT of things! Everything else is good. I feel completly recovered from 's birth now just 5 wks ago. Hard to believe! I have lost 30 of the 60lbs I gained. YIKES!!! My stomach is pretty flat, but the theighs and hips have some work! I haven't seen since our last visit when he just a little over 2wks. I think all is well with them though. Anyway, guess that is it! Trish (CO) Kayla 5- NA 4- E/A 2- anaphlytic to egg, severe milk, peanut, tree nuts, fish, amoxicillian, E/A including cats & dogs.
