Guest guest
Barbecue Chicken & Sauce1 cup ketchup1/4 cup cider vinegar1/2 cup brown sugar1 tbsp. chili powder1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp. dry mustard ('s is best)1/4 tsp. salt1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper (I omitted this)2 cloves garlic, or use 1 tsp. garlic powder ( I sprinkled garlic powder like twice)Combine ingredients in saucepan. Bring to boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Reduce heat; simmer for 10 minutes. (Put a tipped lid on the pan, or else you'll end up with sauce spattered everywhere!)I used 9 skinless and boneless chicken breasts (trimmed well of fat). Place chicken, and sauce in crockpot and cook on low for about 6 hours. (I started testing doneness with a fork at this point, and I found it to be cooked perfectly around this time.)I served it with mashed potatoes and steamed green beans. The sauce gets very thin because of all the broth that's created, but it's really good on the mashed potatoes. Yum! DonnaShane - asthma - allergic to dairy, eggs, pickles, and olives.
