Guest guest
Alyssa, I don't know anything about Cold urticaria, but I would say allergy. They look like the hives my Mother had when she took cortisone. Adverse reaction to something in the eggnog? That's how I get if I eat strawberries, and how Shane gets if he eats a pickle. Shane gets so bad from them I have to him a Zyrtec that adults take for the itch. You know how you crave something if your body needs it? I've also heard you crave what you shouldn't have also. If it were me, just to see, I would not give her anything with any of the ingredients that were in the egg nog, and would remove all nuts, and see. Here are some foods, and additives that can cause severe hives: Foods Fish Shellfish Nuts Eggs Chocolate Strawberries Tomatoes Pork Cow's milk Cheese Wheat Yeast Citrus fruits Food Additives Salicylates Tartrazine (a dye) Benzoate Penicillin Sulfites DonnaShane - allergic to dairy, and pickles. Guest guest
Alyssa; I'm unable to view the attached picture for whatever reason, but I still wanted to add in my own .02. Hives can be caused from any number of reasons. Usually it is an allergic response. Pets, foods, medicine, pollens - the list goes on can cause an allergic response. Even cold or hot tempatures can cause hives. Also, has she been sick recently with a fever? Hives can be brought on after a bout with the fever... which has caused my kid's to react to things that they normally would not have. Mystery reactions are the pits. I hope she can figure out what caused the trigger.
