Guest guest
Rip their heads off!!???! LOL.. sorry... but we had a negative experience at Burger King yesterday afternoon... DH and I were running errands and we stopped for tacos... well, DD doesnt really eat those, so we usually take her down the road to BK and get her chicken and fries, then go to the park and eat (whicle watching for deer) : ) Well, we ordered, but when we got to the window, DH wanted to know if they had a nutrition info list that we could see (Mcs has them!)... if there happened to be any egg product in Sara's food. The lady at the window said they dont have them, the just changed all of thier menu items so they dont have any. DH said, well, my daughter is allergic to egg products... we just wanted to be sure that there wasnt anything in her food that could cause a reaction. So the lady jsut turned away and got someone else.. the next lady comes up and says she "doesnt think there are any eggs in that food"... so I was like "how do you know?!" There is s difference between assuming and knowing for sure! So the lady says, "I dont think there is.. all I have is a poster on the wall that tells me"... so I said to her "so go look at your poster!!" I mean.. COME ON! There is a little child in the backseat... they dont know how serious her problem could be... for all they know she could have a life threatning reaction.. and she is willing to assume that there isnt eggs??! JEEZ! So with an attitude, she huffs off to go look at her poster, and comes back almost 5 inutes later and simply says "no". Wow.. how hard was THAT?! So I looked online.. they have a very helpful nutritional info chart... states very clearly what is in everything.. but I intend to complain.. these ladies were older.. not clueless teenagers who just dont get it.. they were probably mothers and grandmothers... and they were just so nasty, I was really po'd! Sorry this was so long.. I just wondered.. has anyone else encountered such uncaring and insensitive people?? : ( Thanks so much for listening!!! Happy V-Day!!! Guest guest
Brittany this made me seriously LOL. And to answer Carol, yes people are stupid. We once got a sundae for Drew where we told the waitress 2x that we didn't want any nuts on it. Then explained that peanuts could kill him. She brings it out with peanuts all over it. I told her to go get another because I wasn't going to let him eat it. She said oh give it to me, I'll pick them off!!!! Yeah, that will work. I took the 1st one from her and wouldn't give it up until another (and the manager) were brought to our table. We did get part of the meal taken off after that (and a very apologetic manager who was sweating bullets I was going to get even angrier than I was!) The best though is a friends MIL. She actually asked me if I've ever considered feeding Drew peanut butter just to see exactly what type of a reaction he would have and how quickly it would happen. Then she said how do you really know he has this allergy? Well the 2x he has accidentally gotten ANY peanut products he started to swell up like a blowfish and his throat swelled so his breathing was squeaky. Enough of a " test " for me! And to think, my poor friend has to deal with this woman on a regular basis Drew, 8 years, anaphylactic to peanuts, allergic to dogs, environmental allergies, severe eczema, outgrown dairy! Mattie, 5 years, no known allergies , 19 months, no known allergies but avoiding all nuts until she is much older! ----- Original Message ----- Carol, I did have a problem when I called to see what is in Vanilla instant pudding by Jello-o. I asked specifically what the vanilla flavoring is made from because most vanilla extract is made from wheat. I asked the question many times. Finally, the lady said that if vanilla could be a problem then I shouldn't use a product with vanilla in the name. I am intelligent enough that vanilla flavored pudding might not actually have vanilla in it. So I wrote a letter asking what was in it and complaining about this lady. Do you know who they had call me back? The same lady!
