Rimland did found ASA back in the beginning. I don't know the long history of

when he left or when he founded ARI, but I do remember being surprised when I

read that he founded ASA.

Remember, before ARI, he was the first one (in the 1960's) to refute the

refrigerator mother syndrome (a version of the refrigerator mother syndrome was

in my 1990 Child Psychology graduate textbook - the first place I looked when

was diagnosed)...I think the ASA was founded around then...I wish I was

a better historian (and biochemist and nutritionist and physician...and mom)...

Bernard Rimland, PhD is NOT with the ASA -- he's with ARI.

Rimland founded the Autism Research Institute, based in California.

He's been doing everything he can to sound the alarm about mercury in

vaccines.

All these acronyms are confusing -- CAN, NAAR, TAAP, etc. -- but it's very

important

to use them properly in documentation. These organizations are all very

different.
