diabtes and pregnancy

Will diabetes cause me trouble with

child birth?

I have had 2 children and they watch a pregnant diabetic much closer. My

insulin requirements more than doubled with the pregnancy. They say that

diabectics usually have large babies--mine were 5lb 10 oz and 6 lb 10 oz. One

of my daughters had to be in intensive care for 2 days because she was having

low blood sugars, Both are very healthy adults now. Ages 24 and 20. Back

then, most doctors didn't think that diabetics could have children. I have

always hated being told that I couldn't do something!!! LOL!!
