The docs are all yelling, " it's your diet " but my blood sugar is great and I have been able to keep my weight steady. It's not that I don't consume vegs and some fruits, and I have now tried to cut back on the size of the protein portions. Seems like I just can't get it all to balance so that the diabetes is under control and nothing else goes out of whack! Any suggestions? Gail Hi Gail, OUCH! Both of those are no fun! I iamging your doctor put you on allopurinol. Take it faithfully, drink lots of water. This pretty mech will handle the uric acid stones, as well as the gout. Unfortunately, some of us are equal opportunity " stoners " ! Calcium stones are the next problem to face. Also not fun. So far my doctor has not changed the meds for these, just left it with allopurinol. Did you require lithotripsy? I went through that once. I know too much protein is not good for you, but the only thing I really can tell you, is DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!!!! This does help, and remember, if you have had a stone, you are quite likely to have another in 5 or so years! Hugs, Marilyn (who is drinking lost of water;-) Marilyn Moderator for Diabetic_Recipes dnevessr@... Opinions expressed are solely my own and should not be mistaken for Professional advice.
