Guest guest
Hi : I am new to this group so I thought I would introduce myself to the group. My name is and I was diagnosed as Typed 1 diabetes 4 years ago. I had brain surgery and they also found out I was epilectic so I have diabetic seizures as well as epilectic seizures. I also have many other things wrong with me so I am on many different disabilities so I am on disability. That means I can write back as often as I want to. I have an issue with not being able to get medical alcohol wipes with medicare. You have to be on a medicare chosen program to get your things f or not too much but you cannot get your alcohol wipes, just meters, strips and lancets. The alcohol strips are just as important. Thankfully, I am on a county program here in Florida which pays for my medicines for $6.00 a co-pay. That makes a big difference when you are on 15 prescriptions as well as strips, lancets and new meters. I just thougt you might know about Liberty Medical Supply and maybe you can get that in your area. I will sign off for now and hope to hear from you and any other people in the group. Keep true to your diet, exercise and medicine and you will be better off. My readings run from 200 fasting to 300 after meals. I take insulin 2 times a day and test 4-5 times a day just to double check what my sugar is. Thanks for reading my note and may you all have a good dietetic life. Guest guest
hi mara! welcome! that's pretty neat that you're a dog trainer. here's a story for you: my high school beau and his dad used to complain that their dog wasn't learning to sit. i watched them and dog for awhile, and then i just had to say: try just putting your hand behind your back - don't say sit. and yes, without fail, dog would sit! *sigh*. now the real question is, should i have known right there and then, this boy and his family were not for me? lol! welcome again! rach > Greetings! > > I'm new to this group. I'm a certified dog trainer and assist people with training their assistance dog. I have an assistance dog, Freely who is a 4 yo golden retriever and just great. Right now I am unable to care for her, so she is with my sister. I look forward to her coming home on Sunday! This has been a VERY long 9 days without her! I use a power wheelchair because of having neurological problems as well as seizures. can't wait to learn and become more confident with some life changes! Mara www.PawstoFreedom.com Hi Mara, welcome! I have a newfie who has been certified. He basically trained himself to " jumpstart " my husband when he has a seizure. (lights are on nobody's home kind) his weight on Don's toes makes him snap out of it when it is first starting for some reason. As it advances his pain receptors do not work, so Bear is the only way to know if it is starting. he is on anti-seizure meds, too. Sorry your body made you join us, but you are so welcome. I would say those numbers should impact your vision as well. Are you on meds? How about diet and exercise? Do you swim? My best friend lost a leg, then had a stroke, and is finally able to swim again and it is so great for him to be in a pool. That is how I exercise, too. Arthritis in the knees ;( Well, jump in, tell us your needs, ask questions, we'll do our best for you. Hugs, Marilyn Marilyn Moderator for Diabetic_Recipes dnevessr@...
