Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I feel a need to address the difference of opinions that are running rampant right now. Members are certainly entitled to their opinions and expression of these opinions. However, a difference of opinions, inevitable on a board this size, needs to have a degree of sensitivity and understanding. My doctor said this- but my doctor said this.....anyone ever notice that the doctors have a very difficult time agreeing on what is 'appropiate' for a diabetic? Information is key to living a healthy life; mis-information can be deadly. This dis-ease cannot be sugar-coated. Often, a person can be uninformed or mis-informed. This does not give anyone the right to chastise or judge that person. I understand the desire to do what is best for ones' health and the desire to share that with others on this board. I am asking the members to please refrain from using forceful and judgemental language when responding to posts. If you believe someone is giving out 'bad' information, ask them where they got their information from instead of jumping all over them. Members are leaving because of all the bickering going on. That will not help any of us get a better understanding of how to live life with diabetes. In fact, it may chase someone away who may really need the information 'you' provide. There is no one answer. We all know that. Different types and oh so many different modalities of dealing with them. Share your experiences. I have seen so much good on this board and it saddens me to have to write this letter. Let's be constructive. Personal attacks in any form will not be tolerated. If you are uncertain of how to respond to a post-feel free to contact me, personally. If you have a problem with another member-let me know, so it can be discussed before arguments begin. This is your board, people. Please, treat the other members in the same manner you would expect to be treated. This is part of the growing process. Let's grow together for the common good. Peace, Grace and Blessings, Jamez ADI Moderator sanborn51@... http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/alldiabeticinternational/ Opinions expressed are solely my opinion and should not be mistaken for professional medical advice. Guest guest
Jamez, I just want to say " Well said. " Everyone is unique and an individual. No one has the same metabolic rate. So everyone's diet and what works for them is going to be totally individualistic in nature.
