And do soy nuts " taste " like nuts or some weird other

funky thing?

Becki: Of course nuts are also a great source of protein. I mentioned both

in a previous post. :) Soy nuts do not really taste like regular nuts --

they have a different flavor. Mainly they provide variety and soy has been

proven to be advantageous to health (especially for women).

Soy nuts and endamame (fresh soy pods) were both mentioned as alternate snack

sources for protein. Regular nuts are just as good.

all the best,

Becky- I don't know if I would do Meridia. I think your body needs to be

free and clear. I even stopped vitamins 2 weeks before surgery because some

can cause excessive bleeding. I did continue with my blood pressure meds.

I would ask your Dr. and not take any chances. EllenPam

Becki,

Have you tried Meridia? It did nothing for me. Also I would clear it with

, whatever you take and find out when you may need to quit it

before surgery.

Hi all. question 1: why soy nuts and not just

" nuts " ? Like cashews or filberts, which I love. hmmm?

And do soy nuts " taste " like nuts or some weird other

funky thing?

***** I did not like soy nuts, but love cashews and almonds and peanuts, so

I eat those instead.

question 2: someone said they take the predigested

protien (boy is that spendy) and they just swig it

back in a shotglass. My bottle says mix with water and

drink. Does anyone really just swig it? 3 tablespoons

has 45 grams of protein, that is awesome, huh?

*****where do I find this stuff?????

question 3: why am I eating emotionally when my Dr.

says I can't gain any weight or she won't do the

surgery? I lost 13 lbs before I saw her, but now have

gained 4 back. I am working out 3 times a week but I

doubt it's muscle gain :-) my youngest is disabled

and was back in the hospital and what do you do in

there? ya eat. I am trying to " cool " it but feeling

sort of " out of control " . Should i take some Meridia

in the meantime?

*****I don't know, I am sorry but I cannot remember when you are due to have

your surgery... but please don't be too hard on yourself, nerves alone about

this surgery was enough to send me to the pantry... LOL!!!

question 4: how did I EVER get along without you guys?

These lists are the warmest and coziest friendships I

can imagine, and the freedom to speak about stuff I

don't share with my uh... " real " ...friends

(oxymoron???)

*****I know just what you mean, the friends I have made here are invaluable.

We will always be here for you... always.

Good luck with ins.

Big hugs,

Loriann

I've been quietly reading the mail for a while. Being new this I'm

still fumbling along the learning a new lifestyle.

Today I was label reading in the store and noticed something I hadn't

seen before. On one line " Carbohydrates 28g " then a couple of lines

down " Other carbohydrates 27g " ?? What's the difference? Why

aren't they combined other than this way they list about half?

Other question I've seen a lot of good recipes go by, but I just

visited the group's website. I looked in the files section and there

is a Recipes folder that is empty?
