OK, so I can throw in my 10 cents worth too then! I started 6 weeks ago to lose weight for the third time as I have explained in my previous posts on this subject. I calculate all my food and its caloric value and work out the average proportions. Averaged over the last 10 days it is (target is in brackets): 22e% protein (25%) 30e% fat (25%) 48e% carbohydrate (50%) 0e% alcohol (0%) (e = energy) I calculated 1800kcal/day for the first two weeks as a baseline and then reduced my intake to 1500kcal/day +/- 220 for the following 6 weeks. The weekly weight results are: Start: May 22nd: 91.6kg (202lbs), fat 26.7%, water 51.7% May 28th: 91.7kg (202lbs), fat 27.3%, water 51.3% Jun 4th: 91.3kg (201lbs), fat 26.9%, water 51.5% Jun 11th: 89.8kg (198lbs), fat 26.9%, water 51.3% Jun 18th: 89.5kg (197lbs), fat 26.6%, water 51.7% Jun 25th: 88.7kg (195lbs), fat 26.5%, water 51.7% Jul 2nd: 88.9kg (196lbs), fat 25.2%, water 53.4% I weigh every morning and calculate a sliding 3-day average for weight and a sliding 6-day average for fat and water. This removes the swings resulting from the variation in my water household and bowel contents. Food is a 10-day average and varies plus/minus 200kcals/day about that average. My waist measurement was 108cm (42.5 " ) at the start and is now 106cm (41.7 " ) after 6 weeks.
