Zinc reactions

Hi everyone,

I'm fairly new here and am still figuring all this information out.

Both my sons (2 and 5) have digestive and yeast issues that we've

been working on for a while. The 2 year old also has fatty acid

metabolism problems. I'm suspecting some form of toxic metal

contamination - mercury is my suspect since I had leaking root

canals for many years and had my amalgams removed (unsafely) prior

to getting pregnant.

I'm working on getting a hair elements test for the three of us,

which is going to take a while (getting my chiropractor set up with

Doctors Data as here in CA we can't order tests online at present).

In the meantime I've started upping our supplements in anticipation

of using ALA only.

Several days ago I started giving the boys 20mg of zinc before bed

(I realize now that this was too much). Both boys got really cranky

and my 2yo came down with a cold. I stopped the zinc - both then

had a good day, so I knew it was the zinc. I then started giving

them tiny doses spread over the day - both of them had reactions

again - the 5yo was cranky, the 2yo's nose started running again and

he had a fever.

They have both tried Zinc Talley (you put some in your mouth and if

it tastes like water you are deficient) and both seem deficient in

zinc, so I don't think they are getting too much.

Does this seem like it could be due to copper? Does anyone have any

insights on what is going on and what I should do?

Thank you,

Ann
