Unless you are taking the readings according to a proven pattern, I would call them 5 - 6 isolated readings. For myself, NIDD2 in good control like you, I would not be able to justify that expense. I test 3 times a week routinely. At about US$0.50 per strip, that makes about US$6.00 a month in test strip costs whereas you appear to be spending around US$90 a month on them. What return do you get on your test strip investment to justify that expense? I imagine that for somebody with no medical insurance and possibly not much spare cash, it would be a tough call to have to find US$90 a month for test strips unless there was some very real, immediate, advantage to be obtained. For myself, I would say that it would be better to spend the money on extra fresh fruit and vegetables than on optional BG testing. What do you do with the 5-6 readings a day?
