I am in Tucson, AZ. I only found an 800 number for the American Diabetes Assn.in the Tucson phone book. They referred me to a hospital that teaches a 10 class course for diabetics, but only those with medical coverage for $750 prepaid. I hadn't thought about bothering pharmacists. I'll search the used book stores for the Dummies book. I've been visiting Mendosa's site the last few days. Thanks again Budd Hi Budd, that truly distresses me. Everyone should be offered these classes on a sliding scale if they have no insurance! Do these dummies that make these rules never stop to consider what untreated diabetes will cost the health system??? Pharmacists are good in a pinch, they are very knowledgeable generally. There are also many sites like this one. We do everything in out power to get all the answers out there we can. If someone does not know, they pass it down the line, until someone does. Mendosa@... is a great site to learn from, too. Budd, ask questions if you have any. There are no dumb questions. This is a learning process for each of us. It just appears some of us have more access to the classes. Hope we can meet all your needs. hugs, marilyn Marilyn Moderator for Diabetic_Recipes dnevessr@...
