Guest guest
Hi , Yes, I too have heard that it is unlikely Jack will grow out of his treenut allergy, and I'm not in denial about this (not much anyway!!) I just need to believe there is a glimmer of hope! You sounded a bit shocked at my questions as if I was a bit casual, I can assure you that I am thorough in my approach to Jacks anaphylaxis and have no traces at all in the house or out of the house!...I just wanted to know the consensus. I also found myself nodding vigourously to your story about playgroup and the peanut butter sandwich incident. Again, damned if you do, damned if you don't aren't you! We tend to avoid organised play centres like that and instead go to open air parks. I can't help nut contact on playequipment but somehow I think because the surface area is larger, there's less chance of contact...another one of my crazy ideas??? We also entertain alot at home. I have a big garden with climbing frame, sandpit, heaps of veichles and toys and soon to be swimming pool yipppee. So I can become completely agoraphobic and cocoon my child!!! It sounds extreme but these are the years that I can look after him like this. He doesn't miss out on socialisation because we have kids here and he is a well balanced loving little boy. Having said all this I went to a friends house for a get together of Mums who all knew about Jack. One of my closer friends pulled out a plate of chocolate brownies, al beit for the adults, but still laden with walnuts. I literally had to spell it out for her after a few attempts at being discreet. I told her my child could die within minutes if he so much as inhaled a piece of walnut. I hate even having the confrontations and cried on the way home but without this kind of thing we wouldn't even go out at all and that would be a shame. Phew. It's confronting writing these things down sometimes isn't it! lots of love, Libby xxxxxxxxxx PS what is IHMO???? _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: smart spam protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
Guest guest
Hi , I really liked what you had to say. Hi Les, Thanks for your reply about prednison. I am having a lot of trouble these days being off of it, and am trying not to go on it because of the effects on my blood sugar. I am hoping someone can help with this delima. I am having a real hardtime today, bs were up over 300, I exercised and they went up! Helen in SD
