My mom has lived with me sinse my dad died in 1992. I know she stresses me

alot, which dont help my glucose readings. She has to have an openion on

EVERYTHING..lol And when I do something she is like " well I wouldnt have done

that " or " I cant belive you made that decision " lol Imlike geeze Im 37 and I can

make my own decisions! lol Then she picks apart every medicine I get and tells

me I wouldnt take that it has side effects. I try not to tell her much of what

Im doing or taking so I dont have to hear about it...:) Plus she over dramatizes

everything. She just knows Im going to have diabetes complications, because my

father did. He had nerve damage in his legs and didnt take care of himself. He

pretty much drank himself to death. I told her I wont have the same problems

sinse I dont drink and Im watching myself. Sometimes I think roles have reversed

that Im now the mom..haha fran

Hey Fran,

I hear you. I am in the same boat, almost. I am a single mom, (have a

boyfriend), and one child who is multi-handicapped. We live with my parents and

it is needless to say very stressful living with them and dealing with my son

and my diabetes.

I have been angry, depressed, to just " Who gives a crap " attitude.

We all deal with our stresses differently.
