Rach,

I normally disconnect my pump before going through security....

Hi guys, just thought I would add my two cents worth here. My dh has a pain

pump imbedded in his lower belly, just above his waistband. About the size of

a hockey puck. His is not removable without surgery. He also has a pacemaker

in his left front upper chest. His body sings like a canary when we go into

the airport security site. He also sings when we go into any building with a

security system (like a courthouse). He is unable to stop in a magnetic field

(like a stores anti theft system) and must move rapidly through or it shuts

off his pain pump and his pace maker. Don carries with him at all times, a

card identifying him and discloses his " hardware. " A few weeks ago, we went to

the courthouse. He was finished with the shoes, pockets, etc., passed into the

building......I on the other hand, standing there shoeless, purseless,

nothing on me except 14kt gold which they assured me would not set this thing

off.

I was just telling them I was not removing my underwire bra, the " girls were

not coming out to play " when their boss came up and told them to " pass this

lady through, use a wand to determine where the problem lay " I was on the verge

of smacking these young dummies in the nose until their boss showed up.

Security my fanny, these things are just another form of abuse we have to

tolerate

because all of society is not getting their ducks in a row. You never know who

or what is going to explode. Hugs, Marilyn
