I often think of that day on 2000 when my dr said " you have diabetes, sorry your insurance has changed, hope you find a new doctor soon " . I had not the faintest idea of what I would eat, but knew that diabetes meant " too much sugar in my blood " , or so I thought. I no concept of carbs being culprits, as well as what my body needed some of each day. I immediately quit dringing all soday, even diet ones. I was afraid to open my mooth for food, I easily lost weight, LOL As I regained self assurance, I regained weight! Not all though, thank God. I went to the book store, I went to the diabetes society, I found a new doctor. I found a new purpose. I wanted to get the news out there to other diabetics, we are going to learn new things, we are going to survive. I can support them in their times of fear. I can pray for them to have peace with this new change. We will rise above this, with God's help. Love, Marilyn
