I gave them a report on Aspartame to read and nothing happened - they are still offering sample packs of NutraSweet in the waiting room. I also brought them a sample of Stevia (which they had never seen). Hi Joe, we discussed stevia yesterday and the general consensus was it left an unplkeasant aftertaste. Polling the room and the dieticians that were there, splenda came in will all positive remarks. It is also my " sweetener of choice " . About carbs, I use a lot of carbs in my diet, mixed with fats and protein, they manage to maintain a low enough value to keep my A1c at 6. So I guess in the end, it is important for each of us to test regularly and eat what our bodies tolerate. I think it is good for people to vary their diets as much as possible.
