Guest guest
As I don't take Insulin and only limited Metformin, I prick my finger as often as I like, but the doctor prefers I don't get paranoid about it (ditto to taking my blood pressure). At first I just about lived with the meter and strips in my hot little hand but I've become so laid back of late my testing strips have often become outdated LOL!. I only take a reading now when I feel strange/unwell etc. Mostly, I rely on my quarterly blood tests which I have, that test a lot of other body functions because of other problems as well. In fact, both my doctor and my diabetic consultant no longer insist on the quarterly test being after fasting. I assume that if my sugars were not as under control as they are, I would be put back on logging my test readings again.
