Hey, Marilyn, I am not a Doctor so I can't really advise as to the need for

insulin, but I can advise, get another Doctor, lol, " take it out yourself? "

please, that is no way for a doctor to behave...My Mom has had polyp's removed

and seemed to have come through it fine... you should not have too much trouble

with a clear liquid diet..for a couple of days, but you might want to ask about

maybe laying off the metiform while you are on it, and also consult with a

doctor about changing that med if it is giving you problems..

There is something in the metformin

package insert recommending strongly

that you do not take metformin for

two days before and two days after

surgery. You might want to check

that out. I am not sure whether

removing a polyp counts as

" surgery " !

My wife had an emergency operation

a year ago and she had taken her

metformin that very morning. The

anaesthetist had me sign a special

release in which the metformin risk

was specifically mentioned.

Hi Carmen , I was thinking that I might do just that after reading 's

post I am thinking I will just watch the bg's during the days and use a little

of the gingerale to bring it up if it gets low. Thanks, Marilyn
