GREETINGS --

If your son has Type I diabetes, that means the antibodies in his

body have attacked/erased the Beta cells in his pancreas which

actually produce the insulin. His body needs insulin not only to

control blood sugars but for many of his body functions to happen.

By being classified as a Type I your son has no more than 10% 0f his

Beta cells remaining. All of the oral medications I am aware of are

only used in Type II diabetics who are still producing insulin.

There is some research underway in hopes of being able to inhale a

form of insulin, but it is still a long way away from being readily

available.

I am not a Type I diabetic, but I have been injecting insulin for ten

years. I was affraid of needles when I first started, but I got used

to them. I do not like them now but I do tolerate them. One option

is to use a syringe with as small a needle as posible to miimze any

pain.

Note, FROM. Why do you think they left? I've heard so many stories
