Guest guest
Hi Helen, I believe part of the theory behind it had to do with regulation of the autoimmune system (which fibromyalgia is said to have to do with). I don't remember the exact protocol...I think that is the word for the *mix* of ingredients that go into an IV. Like water, vitamin C, maybe other vitamins etc. If you were interested, probably the best thing to do would be to consult an orthomolecular doctor. One can *google* on *orthomolecular*. I suppose I should mention OM is considered alternative medicine, but that doesn't mean such doctors are not MDs. And like with all doctors, one should check them out first. I have heard that some people take vitamin C orally, but I do believe there are some dangers with taking high doses that way. And high doses were what was called for. Hope that helps. I learned about orthomolecular medicine from a doctor named Kunin who wrote a book. He was my doctor as a teenager after I got hyperthyroidism and the medication they put me on damaged my liver. I also went to a place called the Whitaker Institute for IVs when I first got diagnosed with diabetes, it's headed by an OM doctor named n Whitaker who has also written several books - including one called Reversing Diabetes. (Whitaker is a bit heavy on the marketing and marketing spin though (as with the use of the word *reversing*)). The idea behind OM is to use " only medicines which are found in nature, or are manufactured in the body. These include vitamins (but not the synthetic patented analogues made by drug companies), nutrients, and hormones (but not the patented synthetic hormones made in the laboratory of man). " I'm not quite on that bandwagon (not with my synthetic meds), but my experiences have convinced me that it helps a lot to look at the big picture. There are knock-on effects. Like when I developed hyperthyroidism and my liver was damaged, my vitamin A levels dropped dangerously low. Not great for the immune system, which was the start of the trouble in the first place. Hard to get back on even keel when your body is being depleted. My original by-the-book doctor would never have bothered to check that out and I could have gone blind they said, among other things. ok. I see I have rattle on here... rach > > , > Do you have any more information on fibromyagia and vit c treatments? > > > _____________________________________________________________________ ___ > Helen
