Yes, diabetes is the least of my worries. Hi Joe, if you ever need an ear to bend, I am here. I know life is stressful under the best of circumstances, then throw in a chronic disease that keeps changing and threatening us and.... yup, you know! Joe, I happened to see a show last night about strange or amazing things. There was a lovely woman, her internal beauty showed through, but her exterior was totally covered with little tumors. Non contagious, but think what she must have dealt with through her 75 years. Her first 25 years or so she had the beauty of a movie star. Then these hideous, painful things began to grow. Last night, as I was praying, I thanked God for her life, for the presence she had in the face of this, to be an outgoing, dynamic person who had friends all over her countryside. Then I thought, I should never complain, because there but for God go I. Many hugs, Marilyn
Guest guest
Thanks for the update, Joe. I have a lot of pain in my bicep lately. It was only hurting when I raised my arm or reached behind me to do something. Now it hurts all the time. I have an appt with my Dr. the first of August for my A1C and am trying to wait until then to see her because I am self-employed with no medical insurance. Are the meds helping that the Dr. gave you? Isn't that the same thing as aspirin? Vicki From: Joe (out of Europe) I just had my arm x-rayed at the doc's. It looks like I'm experiencing pain again from the tendinitis I had twenty years ago. It's doesn't seem to be a diabetic neuropathy after all. As a remedy, I was given a German bio-drug called Assalix which contains bark from the willow tree (!). Go hug a tree today. Guest guest
One of the side effects of glucophage is muscle pain and it can be dangerous. It is called lactic acidosis I think. I don't know how much glucophage you take, but if you do, check this out with your doctor immediately. I have been having awful pain, but the dosage I take, isn't enough to cause it, or so they say. Guest guest
Lene----I can relate to how you feel with all the pain from leg cramps. I get them also, most every night as I am sleeping. At times, I get leg cramps in both legs at the same time. I, too, am taking glucophage twice a day along with glynase twice a day and also actos. All this medication is really making me a total wreck. My stomach is a wreck. Get very bad diarreha everyday too from the pills. Why do doctors give us pills that they know will make us feel so bad???? As for the feeling in your shoulders and in the back. I suggest that you see a heart doctor and have yourself checked out. This is the way all my heart trouble started. I never had chest pains, all my pain was in the back. I finally had to have open heart surgery and 5 bypasses. Care enough about yourself to have a heart doctor check you. Guest guest
I don't contribute very much but I can relate to the tingling across the back. I had this also for a couple of weeks. One day I was across from the hospital and collapsed. When I came to I was in ICU and I was told I had another heart attack. I didn't know that I had any before. The doctor said that some people have it this way. It all depends upon where the problem area is located at. I am also lucky enough to have RA and I thought that was what was causing the tingling and pain. I didn't know I was diabetic until I had a triple bypass and the Aortic valve replaced. I have not had that same tingling since. Tom G
