Guest guest
Hi Marilyn thank you for the wonderful welcome. I love to read, ride motorcycles and I collect Barbies. I have depression and fibromyalgia and asthma along with diabetes. I just found out in December that I had two hemorrhages in the back of my left eye. I just went back to the eye doctor and the hemorrhages are gone. I have one very tiny still in the back of my eye. I get on these kicks of craving sugar and need to find a way to stay away from it. I do this every now and then well I'm doing it again. Cheryl In a message dated 6/27/2004 2:15:42 PM Eastern Standard Time, dnevessr@... writes: Hi Cheryl, welcome. It really bothers me that some doctors, " dedicated to helping us " are so difficult to deal with. A physician with no bedside manor, should work in medical research, not patient care. JMHO Glad to have you with us, maybe we can help you find your way back to the right track! Maybe you have some ideas we haven't thought of yet ;-) Jump in, tell us your interests, we are all diabetics, or diabetic caretakers. We know this is not who we are, but something we each have to deal with tp some point or another. Just wanted to add, we also accept prayer needs here, or things that might be of concern to you. We deal with the whole package, as it all affects our blood glucose in the end. Hugs, Marilyn

Cheryl Hi Cheryl, I have several friends with fibro, I think it is becoming very common to go along with diabetes. Do you belong to a fibro group? If not I have a very dear friend that would gladly refer you to one. ;-) Asthma is another bug-a-boo, isn't it? Do you use steroids for that? Those steroids play havick with your BG's don't they. I will gladly add you to my prayer list, It is so awesome to see the results come in! Makes my day to offer a praise! I will pray the last vestage of the eye problem is gone when you go back to have it checked. I will also pray about the cravings, it is very hard to fight everything at once, I know. Do you use splenda? It sure helps me when I get the urge! LOL Hugs, Marilyn
Guest guest
DJ thank you so much for the wonderful welcome. It is nice to see another Barbie collector. I have over 50 that are out of the box and I'm thinking of selling them. I have a few vintage ones. I would love to have the addresses of Barbie sites. I only belong to one. I hope to get to know everyone here. I have a huge room in the basement with tables set up to hold my houses. Right now, there are 12 houses in various states of completion. I also collect custom barbies, kelly, skipper, ken & francie. Most of my dolls are out of the boxes, living in the houses I've been diabetic for over 30 years now & just had my second kidney transplant in 4 years. It's tough but I am tougher LOL Welcome to the group...it's a pretty nice one. Do you belong to any of the barbie gorups? I can recommned plenty if you are interested. peace, DJ
Guest guest
Hi Marilyn. I don't use splenda but will give it a try, right now I will try anything to break this sweet tooth I have. I have been put on steroids for my asthma from time to time and yes my sugars flew. I don't belong in a Fibro group. I joined one when I first found out I had it and everyone ignored me in the group when I would write in so I left. Thank you for adding me to your prayer list I will take all the prayers I can get. My depression seems to be settling down and I've taken control of it instead of it taking control of me. This really does seem like a wonderful group I am so glad that I joined. You say the word and I will send your post to a wonderful lady named June. She will hand hold you right into the group and you will be blessed for sure. I am glad the depression is easing up. Guest guest
Hi Cheryl-- I am Sharon and I live in California. Victorville (the Mojave Desert). If you find a good site for fibromyalgia please let me know. I have it due to a disease called sarcoidosis and possibly from being diabetic for 30 years (doctor hasn't finished researching it) although most of his patients (female) suffer from it. Take care, Sharon in California Re: [alldiabeticinternational] Welcome Cheryl ;-) Yes, Marilyn please say something to June, I would love to find a good group on fibromyalgia. Guest guest
From: james sanborn Just wanted to welcome all of the newcomers to the group. I've been busy the past couple of days. I want to extend my thanks to and for asking me to be a moderator for the group. I've noticed quite a few salt substitutes being mentioned. Mrs. Dash makes one if you want to try one already made for you. For you more daring to take a slightly different road, you can find a kelp salt substitute in your friendly health food store. If you haven't tried it, stop scrinching your noses! Okay, I a no longer scrinching my nose. Thanks, , i will look for this the next time I am at the health food store.
