Guest guest
I order a chicken and broccoli and a chicken and green beans dish, both had a sauce I am not sure what was in it, but I ordered it with no rice and it was good and filling. It didn't knock me out of ketosis either Hugs Penny---Ohio 173/158/130 Goal for Oct 31st-----150 http://members.xoom.com/Shadcat708/LC.html " >My Low carb links site ---http://members.xoom.com/Shadcat708/LC.html http://www.geocities.com/shadcat708/The__Home.html " >My Home page--- http://www.geocities.com/shadcat708/The__Home.html

MSG is a migraine maker, and DH does not need any more of these. ;-) I would skip the rice or noodles (my faves) unless you are very good as eating just the slight amount that works for us. The broccoli chicken or broccoli beef tend to be good choices because they are not sugar infused and not too much fats. Almond chicken I think is another good choice, usually loaded with zuccuni and celery, also not too muck fat. I loke mushu (sp?) pork and the thin little pancakes are not too bad, assuming they are not flour tortillas as I have seen in some places, then you just need to watch the carbs. I love hot and sour soup, and the tofu is good gor you. It is great with shrimp in it. I am not sure of all the ingredients, but I think it would be a better choice than egg drop soup. I have seen that made with greasy chicken and pretty much avoid it these days. Hope with these and other ideas you get, you will have a good meal! What time shall we come!LOLOL Hugs, Marilyn
Guest guest
Marilyn, You basically had the same thoughts that I had, thanks. BTW, the Chinese food around here is lousy and I know for a fact that no chickens were harmed in the making of Wonton or Eqq Drop soup. I think it is mostly salted water. My dayghter in law is extremely allergic to chicken and she can have their soup with no ill effects. Thanks again. Our dietitian does not recommend chinese food from the resrauant! Starchy, MSG and Sugar and who knows what are major ingredients. She says - want Chinese - buy a WOK. & T1 (now possibly brittle at that!)
Guest guest
Hey guys: I have found that if you ask for no 'msg' in your food from chinese restaurants, they will make it without it. Only once, did I ask for no 'msg' and the restaurant use it anyway. Needless to say, I never returned to that restaurant again. Also, if you give them a recipe, I have found more often than not, they will make it to your specifications. No harm in asking and you never know if you don't ask. Happy Eating! Guest guest
The place I go to will do anything I ask them to do, but once I asked for some dish, I forget what it was, with the sauce on the side. Well, the dish was just about inedible without the sauce. I would give it up but my wife continues to want it so I figured that I could just make the best of it and try to get something healthy but I am beginning to think that can't happen. Guest guest
Actually you weren't all that late we had it again today. I've got to get my wife to stop wanting it so much. I think it is playing havoc with my BG. It is the sweet sauces and noodles and rice that really get you. I make it at home and when the urge for chow mein gets bad, we go and have it. my 12 year old would eat this for breakfast every day of the year. Her second favorite is pizza, cold or hot, she loves it! Hope there is no diabetes in her future. She sure knows a lot about it, loves to test for me. Even uses my vaculance on my forearm.
