Nope, you are not a spoil-sport, just giving me good info. I gave upon the

buffets when I found out about the diabetes. Good to know about the MSG, I

didn't realize that. I know a lot of folks can't take it for various

reasons but I didn't realize it would effect me that way.

Many Chinese restaurants use MSG in their dishes for a variety of

reasons. MSG causes a very large insulin response after it is

ingested since there are glutamate receptors in the pancreas. This

will over stress your pancreas which is something you do not need

especially if you are a diabetic. Make sure that MSG has not been

used in preparing any of the items you eat. Also, probably stay away

from Chinese Buffets where food is prepared beforehand. Sorry to be

a spoil-sport.

Hi Wambo, yes, I loved your post. For years it was just known as agimoto

(sp?) and widly used is asian communities. Fortunately it has been made into

something people are becoming aware of. Thanks for the post, love useful info
